Assalam o alaikum to everyone in this world. I am Muhammad Asad and I am proud to be a muslim. I want to share something with everyone through this article and that is my observation and understanding of my religion ISLAM.
Generally speaking ISLAM is a very dense religion that covers every single aspect of our lives. It provides a complete code of life for us but I seriously think we are muslim just by name and do not have the basic understanding of the religion of peace'. We are unfortunately copying others and this has lead to a lot of changes to the religion. As a result of differences of opinions and ideologies, a lot of sects have emerged. Every sect considers itself to be right and consequently there is a lot of sectarian turmoil in our society.
You may find this article ironic or sarcastic but all I have written so far is the TRUTH.
Coming to the main topic lets first establish what ISLAM is ..?
For me ISLAM is meant to be practiced and not just learnt.
ISLAM : * Islam teaches fraternity and brotherhood.
*To help someone is Islam.
*To make someone smile is Islam.
*To care of your Parents is Islam.
*To be kind and polite with all is Islam.
*To not make fun of anyone is Islam.
*To give alms and sadqa is Islam.
*To remove someone's Thirst is Islam.
*To pray five Times a day is Islam.
*To recite and understand the Quran is Islam.
*To conceal someone's sins is Islam.
and to follow the SUNNAH of our Holy Prophet MUHAMMAD (peace be upon him) and to send DUROOD and to respect the name of our Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) is Islam.
Now after sharing my understanding of the religion I ask you a question. Isn't my understanding of my religion enough for me to live?If it is then why do we hear so many sects ?
For this confusion just read mention below surah of Quran.
Surah Al-Imran 103: "And Hold firmly to the rope of ALLAH all of you and do not divide, and remember the favor of ALLAH upon you, when you were enemies. and He brought your hearts together, and you became by His grace brothers. And you were on the brink of a fire pit of hell, and He saved you from it. Thus, ALLAH makes clear to you His verses, so that you may be guided."
